Adolphe Willette was a very well known illustrator in France. It is possible this was drawn a poster design or for one of the many magazines he was commissioned to do works for at the time. The subject rejoices in the return of the child’s beloved father. Though of course it relates to the tragic atrocities of the 1st World War.
